Custom Heavy-Duty 1m³ Bucket – Built Thick, Fits Perfect, No Nonsense
Published On: May 28, 2019
Our quarry work eats standard buckets for breakfast. They'd last six months, then the floor buckled. This time I went custom: 20mm bottom plate, extra ribs on the back, widened side cutters.
When it arrived, I was half-expecting to fight the pins. Nope. Lined up perfectly on our SANY SY200, pins slid in smooth, no grinding, no hammering. We were digging within 15 minutes. My operator said he'd never had a bucket fit so easily.
We've put over 500 hours on it, loading blasted granite, sandstone blocks, mixed rubble. Not a single dent on the shell, no cracks anywhere. The old bucket needed welding twice a month. This one? Grease it and go.
My operator, Zhang, summed it up: “When you dig into hard ground, the old bucket squealed. This one just grumbles and digs in. You feel the power, not the strain.”
I was worried the extra weight would make the excavator sluggish or burn more fuel. Hasn't happened. The SY200 handles it fine, even on slopes. And because it dumps clean without sticking, we're actually moving more per cycle.
Gave them my rough sketch: make the floor thicker here, add ribs there, widen the side cutters. No back and forth, no excuses. Delivered in less than two weeks.
If you work hard ground, skip the standard bucket. Go straight to a custom heavy-duty one. I wish I'd done it sooner.
